The Samadhi Buddhist Meditation Centre was built after a quick and successful planning process. Researching and drawing from appropriate references for the sacred building, head architect Asanka Jayawardena was able to carefully generate a design that drew connections with Sri Lankan temples yet in a Melbourne context. Servicing its users effectively in both a spiritual and community aspect, the open-plan Temple is highly regarded and an example of JAYWARDEN’s delicate approach to projects with a religious underwork.
