The Kingston House necessitated the subdivision of a double block in Melbourne’s South-East, already site to an existing mid-century brick veneer home. A new and stately two-storey house was commissioned by the client at the rear of the property, exploiting a northern aspect with a large focus on private, open space. A front and rear deck, wholly open to the new home’s open plan living/dining area through bi-fold, glazed doors made this space a recreational jewel. Jaywarden also proposed architectural updates to the existing house, with a light rendering and carport extension balancing out the existing front façade and maximising space for the occupants.
